Introduction
This is more than just a presidential campaign — it’s a collective movement to bring the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) back to its core values: service, constitutional leadership, and member representation.
Launched to support the Presidential Candidacy of Dr. Masiku PHIRI, this campaign is open to all ZMA members across the country. Whether you are a student, intern, practising doctor, or a candidate contesting any other position — you are all welcome here.

Purpose of The Campaign
The main purpose of this campaign is to not only ignite the flames of unity against injustice, but to also remind the membership that when we unite together with one voice, nothing is impossible to achieve. ZMA has in the recent past experienced tough times that saw great divisions and uncertainty of purpose by the membership, like never before. We saw the cries of many members ignored and suppressed by the very individuals chosen to represent us. Like a long, cold night, it felt like we were trapped and couldn’t escape. But time has brought with it an opportunity to correct a mistake that many of us once overlooked.
This campaign is for those who love the profession. Those who are passionate about our beloved association and know that we can be more. For those that know that the association is bigger than any one member, or any agenda for that matter. For those who know that it doesn’t matter how grand your goals are, the means of achieving them also matter.
This campaign is a movement to RIGHT a WRONG. An opportunity to erase the embarrassment that befell our great association. To take away the shame of being a collective of highly educated and capable individuals who ended up fighting a civil war to the marvel of the public that watched.
Why We Are Running
Dr. Masiku PHIRI is contesting the presidency of ZMA to restore constitutional order, member trust, and transparent leadership. Having served as ZMA Secretary General, he understands the responsibilities of leadership and the importance of accountability.
This campaign is a response to members’ deep concerns.
